Last Sunday (13th May), Shropshire Juniors took on Cumbria in the first of their group games. The away side which included Kiah Roberts, Dan Addis, Lewis Rogers (Burway) & Nathan Baker (Craven Arms) who came off the reserves bench on the day, helped Shropshire keep the deficit down to a respectable 30 shots away from home on a very tricky green in Barrow-in-Furness. The old "warhorse" Kiah Roberts stole the show with a fine 21-7 win at No.12

The home side at Donnington Wood won by a massive 122 shots to give Shropshire a 92 shot victory overall. Full scores are available at www.scgba.co.uk under the Junior section.

Shropshire now look froward to their next group game against Staffordshire on Sunday 10th June when it is once again hoped to have another strong South Shropshire representation & hopefully one or two others making their debuts.

Please note that the Ludlow League Junior Merit due to be played on Sunday 17th June has now been postponed due a clash with the Junior Bowls festival being held in Shrewsbury. A new date will be announced shortly.

The cancelled Junior Bowls Festival due to have been played on April 29th has now been re-arranged & will be played at Greenfields & Bagley B.C's on Sunday 17th June. The following players have been selected to play: Kiah Roberts, Dan Addis, Josh Partridge, Nathan Baker, Lewis Rogers, Tom Harrington, Harry Parsonage, Adam Dovey, Ryan Wilding, Ben Foxall, Matt Wadsworth, Jack Parsonage. Anyone not able to play are asked to contact either Phil Baker (07581472684) or Simon Parsonage (07585772073) as soon as possible. The format will be similar to the Inter-League but in teams of 4. As a result of this new date, the Ludlow League Juniors due to have been played at Burway has now been postponed.

15th May 2012 -

The Ludlow League took 2 teams of 6 players to The Junior Inter-League last saturday (12th May). Ludlow A won their group which included last years runners-up, Mid Shropshire B & also last years beaten semi-finalists, Whitchurch A. Unfortunately, they couldn't keep it going in the semi-final on a very slow Severnside No.3 green & eventually lost by 18 shots to Tanners "A". The full report will be available in the reports section soon with full Ludlow Team results from the day.

Shropshire Juniors take on Cumbria this weekend (Sunday 13th May) with a strong South Shropshire representation. The Ludlow League would like to congratulate Dan Addis (Burway) & Lewis Rogers (Burway) on being selected alongside Kiah Roberts(Burway) who is already an established county junior player. Nathan Baker, Ryan Wilding (Craven Arms), Tom Harrington (Ludlow Castle) & Adam Dovey, Harry Parsonage (Burway) have all been placed on reserve. The away side are travelling to Barrow-in-Furness & the league wish them all the best of luck.
